I think the Coasts exert some kind of bizarre, magnetic appeal on Priests! We need to get you on a speaking tour of the Midwest!

    Safe and blessed travels, Father!

Maaannnn, I wish you were going to be closer to the Pacific NW. The closest one to us is 6 hours away. Another time, I hope.

Will any of these talks be recorded? I have listened to your talk ‘Running on empty’. It was excellent.

You must visit Culver City, CA. near Venice Beach of national fame. Loads of good insight and odd American cultural figures to fit into your blogs. Our priest, Fr. John has spent time down there with an Orthodox table filled with books etc.
And, you’d get to stay with my family!!!

Father Stephen! Thank you! My non-Orthodox husband and I had the pleasure of hearing you speak last night in Santa Rosa (in case you’ve lost track!) and are both deeply grateful for your unblinking and profound honesty. Thanks to your talk, I’ve noticed already today how many times my emotions/actions/words/thoughts have had shame as their stage mother, working overtime as always…

Here is Fr Stephen’s talk from Monday, February 8 at Protection/St Seraphim parish in Santa Rosa, California. Yes, I got to be there, and it was a real blessing.

Father, Thank you for your visit to Archangel Gabriel and your talk this evening. I am cradle Orthodox and always felt embarrassed that I couldn’t engage in a good argument that would convince someone of Orthodoxy, I can’t even simply state Why. Thanks to your I understand. It’s my Grammar. I can’t explain English grammar either, I just know what is right. I was the one who laughed out loud at “might could.” I went to Roanoke College in VA, coming from Philadelphia. The first time I heard a dean say “might could” I cringed, and have since come to love the endearing phrase.
Safe travels and blessed anniversary to you and Matushka.
