Glory to God for All Things

Glory to God for all things. For things growing and things that are passing away. For a good walk on a summer day and the quiet of a country lane. Glory to God for all things both revealed and not revealed for He is good and Lord of all.

BTW, I like how Pontificator refers to you as St. Stephen in the announcement of your new blog 🙂

“Glory to God for All Things”

For me, that’s an echo of St. Benedict’s UT IN OMNIBUS GLORIFICETUR DEUS, “that in all things God be glorified.”

    God bless you!

    Fr. Stephanos,

“Glory to God for all things,” are the dying words of St. John Chrysostom. For me, they stand as a reminder that the commandment to give thanks for all things means just that. St. John, of course, was in a painful exile, “at the ends of the earth,” in Byzantine terms, at the time of his death. But his words, like the liturgy that bears his names, remind that we are created to give thanks to God and to glorify him. As Fr. Alexander Schmemann used to say, “We were created to be doxological, eucharistic beings.”

    Many thanks.

    Blessings to you, Father Stephen!
I have added your blog to my favorites and will be accessing your blog daily. I thoroughly enjoyed all your postings on the Pontifications blog and was sorry I would not be able to read them when the Ponty blog changed.

Glory to God for all things!

I have to admit that I did “St Stephen” was not intentional. I must have been inspired.

What I have written, I have written.

The Pontificator has just canonized his first saint. 🙂

Oops! We have clear proof that the Pontificator is not infallible!

    Father Stephen,

I’m so delighted to see that you have your own blog now. I have always enjoyed your posts on the Pontificator’s blog. I look forward to reading your thoughts and reflections – perhaps you could post your sermons?

May God continue to bless you and Saint Anne’s!

I still feel woefully ignorant on the “dashboard” stuff of blogging. How to make the site do what you want it to. I need some sort of crash course. Thanks for the encouraging words.
